Leah Neeson

Hi, I'm Leah
My name is Leah Natalya Neeson, I'm 25 years old from Ballymena, Northern Ireland and a graduate from Ulster University with a BSc with Honours in Interactive Media degree. Interactive Media has taught me skills that I never thought I could achieve from video editing to UX Design and I couldn't be more grateful. I love all things Graphic Design and using my illustration in my designs too. Hobbies include loving all things superheroes and Harry Potter and i'm also a Black Belt and Instructor in Antrim and Kells & Connor Taekwondo clubs.
Taekwondo
As I've said already, I am an instructor for the Antrim Taekwondo and Kells and Connor Taekwondo clubs which I love doing. I'm a 2nd Degree Black Belt in TAGB (Taekwondo Association for Great Britain) Taekwondo which I train five times a week and Sundays with. Most people are probably saying "What is Taekwondo anyway?", Taekwondo is the martial art of the hand, foot and fist meaning we are taught to use these parts of our bodies in combat and technical patterns.
We are given the option to travel to competitions all over the world from the European Championships in Poland to the Scottish in Edinburgh to the World Championships in Miami, the list is endless. I would always try to encourage everyone to take classes in something like Taekwondo as it improves your hand-eye coordination, your footwork and stamina, aside from all that it's just fun.
My style of Taekwondo (TAGB) is mainly kicking and sparring drills as we're known for our kicks. Since doing Taekwondo from age 5, I have gained so many skills from this such as people skills, leadership skills, learning to instruct a large group of people and dedication to a sport. Throughout your Taekwondo career, you are to follow the 5 tenets which I have now followed into all aspects of life: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit.
