As a huge fan of comic books and also illustration, Jim Lee is by far one of my favourite illustrators of all time. His attention to detail and intricate drawings make the comic books all that bit better.

Jim Lee, a world-renowned comic book artist, writer, editor and publisher, is now currently the Co-Publisher of DC Entertainment (DCE) alongside Dan DiDio. Lee is known for his dynamic and extremely detailed illustrations in well-known comic books we all know and love.

Born in Seoul, Korea but moved to St Louis, Missouri when he was young, he started his professional career at Marvel Comics where he was the leading illustrator on the "X-Men" comics which these covers still continue to hold the all-times sales record for single-issue sales at 8 million copies sold in one month alone.

In 1992, Lee created his own production company called "Wildstorm Productions" and co-founded "Image Comics". This was first started as an independent comics company which quickly became the third largest North American Publisher which led to two of his creations "Wildcats" and "Gen 13" to become Saturday morning children's shows distributed by Disney.

In 1998, DC Comics bought Wildstorm Productions and Lee left Image Comics to join the DC Entertainment Creative Team. Lee first began working for DC Comics as an Editorial Director illustrating comics such as "All Star Batman and Robin" and "Superman: For Tomorrow", apart from illustration Lee is also the Executive Creative Director for DC Universe Online and a huge Multiplayer Action gamer for Sony Online Entertainment. Furthermore in 2010, Titan Books released a 300-page book showcasing some of Lee's best artwork for DC Comics titled "ICONS: THE DC & WILDSTORM ART OF JIM LEE".

As Lee was becoming such a popular, talented and huge star in the illustration industry, in 2011 Lee was vital for DC Entertainments New 52 initiative designing the new, more contemporary costumes for some of DC's most iconic superheroes such as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. The title "New 52" was to represent the 52 "multiverses" within the DC Universe.

Jim Lee is the perfect example to show that comic books aren't just for children.
