Jillian Keenan, Software Developer

A friend of mine is currently on her placement year at Liberty IT as a software developer. Studying at Ulster University Jordanstown Campus studying Computer Science, Jillian Keenan is a perfect role model for those thinking about software development especially as she is still a student on placement.

Keenan has always been interested in Computers and software developing and I also wanted to ask her how it was to be a female in a predominantly male environment. I asked her the same set of questions I asked Software Developer Craig Neeson and this was her response:

Liberty IT flew Keenan and her team to Boston, USA to take part in a Hackathon lasting 24 hours for a bicycle company which she was able to take part in and create a web application for the company (see question 2). This showed me the possibilities that I can get from working in the software developing industry.
